Abstract

In this article the experienced meaning of one's life is conceived of as an organized process. The organizational aspect is characterized in terms of a number of personal valuations ordered into a composite whole. The process aspect is characterized in terms of the ongoing chances and reorganizations in one's life meaning over time. Two empirical studies are reported which rely on a self-confrontation procedure for assessing life meaning.
